Who is Richard and how did he become our Representative?
An advocate for the people? Only if there’s something in it for him!
Worked as a lobbyist for housing developers nearly 25 years.
Has called Tallahassee (not district 27) “home” for over 40 years.
In 2021, as the state’s Public Counsel, Gentry signed off on a $6 billion utility rate increase for one of the state’s largest utility companies.
Last years at 72 years old, he said he was retiring to spend more time with the family. Apparently, the family had enough of him!

The Race
Gentry’s campaign was managed by a professional strategist named Anthony Pedicini, from a firm called SIMWINS. Pedicini has a reputation for being ruthless and doing whatever it takes to win an election… even if lies and slander are the main ingredient. But Gentry and Pedicini’s relationship did not start with the 2024 campaign season, there’s more to that story. Politicians, lobbyists, strategists and power hungry millionaires all seem to be conveniently in bed together.

The Primary
Gentry carried the vote with a narrow lead, after a very controversial campaign in which Gentry used a highly negative attack on Steve Shives.
So why did the Gentry camp feel the need to go so negative on a political newcomer with no experience in politics, when he clearly knows his way around Tallahassee and possesses the skills required for the job?
Is this how voters should be influenced?
The Strategy: TELL LIES!
The following accusations have been proven false; and yet Gentry’s campaign spilled over $250,000. in “legally laundered” campaign donations into more than a dozen negative mailers; tv commercials; texting; emails; and radio ads, in order to make sure these attacks on Shives were communicated to primary voters in the district.
- “Shives tax plan… Will double your taxes.” - There is/was no Shives tax plan. He’s never been elected for any office and has 0 history influencing politics. Used in mail and television media.
- Shives scammed a church into selling him a home for $1 and then sold it for $200,000. - it never happened, yet became the most controversial claim of the election. Used in mail and television media.
- “Shives is a rapist… and child predator” - these claims were being posted to TikTok and twitter along with a mass text message sent out the morning of elections. Totally false claims with no evidence of any sexual misconduct in his lifetime.
Shives currently has a lawsuit for civil conspiracy and defamation pending against Richard Gentry and campaign buddy Anthony Pedicini.
What song will Elvis (I mean Richard) sing for the establishment?
Over 95% of Gentry’s campaign was funded by money outside of district 27, coming from big corporate donors; housing developers; and special interest lobbyist organizations.
With over 40 years of lobbying for whoever wrote a check, can we really expect Richard to vote in the best interest of the people?
